Larry Latourette has been a legal recruiter since 2000, successfully matching the needs of scores of individual and groups of lawyers and other professionals with those of law firms and public policy shops in dozens of transactions; he is particularly proud to have also helped a number of professionals go out on their own.
Latourette has written extensively about the legal market (see, e.g., Anatomy of a Lateral Move, Much to Gain and Little to Lose in Working with the Right Recruiter), a market he has observed for over thirty years through the eyes of an associate, a counsel, a partner, a hiring parnter, a hiring COO, and a recruiter.
Prior to becoming a recruiter, he practiced big firm law for almost 20 years, first as an associate at White & Case and Skadden Arps, then as a partner at Preston Gates (where he served as DC Managing Partner for two years), and then as Chief Operating Officer and Counsel for Wallace King. His legal practice varied from being the outside General Counsel of a publicly traded company, to participating in international trade cases that took him to Turkey, Mexico and Canada, to arguing before the 8th and 11th U.S. Circuit Courts, to buying and selling airplanes, to lobbying Congress.
